Although I didn’t have the chance to visit while this project was under way, I did make it along to the closing auction, and it was great!
The project involved a team of staff receiving and documenting donated junk and then through a process of submission of proposals permission was granted to either go ahead with the proposal or go back to the drawing board. The resulting objects d’art were auctioned off along with the files and documentation from the project as well as the rights to the next Cante chiCo exhibition.
Unfortunately I was quickly out-bided on the pieces I was keen on… it was a cool idea, and it was good to see so many people turn out in support.
