Thanks for your comment, there is so much to consider, and question isn’t there?
Interesting around the question of price reflecting quality. I would think that a quality hand crafted pair of shoes would be more expensive than a cheaper knock off, so I can understand where that comes from.
I appreciate laundry skills and knowledge, far more than when I was younger, when I was working long hours, I really didn’t want to have to spend my days off doing washing! Now, I take the time to look after what I have.

I do think that a lot of consumers no longer have the ability to assess quality – I was at a talk about f/fashion etc and one question was why does one pair of jeans for 100euro not last as long as another… or something to that effect – I was a bit surprised as the naievity of the question as the person was assuming that price was an indicator of quality – the person asking the question genuinely assumed the 100euro designey jeans were better quality than the 50euro pair based on price and that they were in a nicer shop. I also worked in retail where people did not want to buy anything you couldnt tumble dry (apparently life was too short) if we are not able to take care of our clothes and looking for convenience all the time, how are we to expect a good quality of living….? these tend to be my musings…..thank you for the book recommendations also
