Hey just got the deets for Tom’s new play, how exciting!  No matinées so I probably wont make it but if you can get out at night do go and check it out, it’s sure to be a good night out.

Dinner Party Money is the new play by Auckland’s one man power house of fringe theatre, Thomas Sainsbury. Directed by Roderick D. Morgan, who is fast establishing himself firmly in the Auckland scene, and featuring a cast of emerging and seasoned talents’ Alexander Gandar, Helen Burns, Jonathan Riley, Edward Clendon and Samuel Bowen Partridge.

The opening night is almost upon us and bookings are filling up thick and fast. So if you have a craving for some mouth watering 5 star theatre this is one dinner party you won’t want to miss. Limited season and tickets so get in quick.

“It’s too hard to explain.”

The Feminine, a speculative drama, is the story of a new world order.
When Adam Cooper, an English Teacher at a prestigious girl’s school, is diagnosed with testicular cancer he thinks his life is over. A new treatment, however, gives him hope and he willingly undergoes it. But there are complications.

In fifteen years he wakes from a coma.
In fifteen years the world has changed dramatically.
In fifteen years Adam’s masculinity will have him hiding for his life.

The Feminine will be performed by Glen Pickering (Based on Auckland, ‘Tis Pity she’s a whore), Nisha Madhan (Shortland Street, Shakespeare UnBarred), Beth Allen (Outrageous Fortune, The Tribe), Todd Emerson (The World’s fastest Indian, Amazing Extraordinary Friends) and Christabel Smith (Caustic, OSS The Merchant of Venice).

I went to see Tom’s latest production on Saturday night – it was cool, quite surreal and as usual very worth seeing.

Don’t worry, word on the street is that the play will be back in a few months time. Watch this space for updates.
