Strawberry sewing kits!

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

I love to get people sewing, it’s easier and more fun than some may think..  You can buy one of these babies from my Felt.co.nz shop.

It’s good to start with something fun and well, these will be quite festive too.  I’m putting together these sewing kits, you can make a set of three or five strawberries, and the good thing for beginner sewers is that makes good practice!

Like my other kits, all you need is a pair of scissors, the kit comes with the felt, stuffing, template, thread, needle and a couple of pins.  They require no tricky fancy stitches, just a little time.

I’ve used mine as a string of strawberries to decorate the house, and Luna has a whole pile to play with too…

So look out for me at i.craft.kingsland if you’re in the hood this weekend, or come to The Michael Park School Fair to see me… or any of my other markets (see over there to the top right..) or you can just email me if you’re interested.

Big Carrots!

Here are some new Don’t Give Me The Chop!  carrot softies, coming to Felt.co.nz soon…  These are bigger then the old ones, and use the lovely new Innergreen corn filling, rather than polyester, which is soooo good, soft and lovely, low allergenic, biodegradable and easy care.

They’re still pretty freaked out.

green and orange

Make gingerbread?  That’s what I thought I’d do.

I love the colours, and the printing on the card is great!  So nice to get my hands on some nice vintage ric rak, it feels lovely and soft too.

So here are some photos of the gingerbread dolls I’ve been making, fun really, I get to use some of the hundreds of buttons I have stashed away.

carrot face freak out

I love these guys, and they are very popular at the markets.  Don’t Give Me The Chop! carrots are cuddly and fun, Luna loves hers, and runs around bopping it on things.  I have some ‘Sew your own Carrots’ kits coming together over the next month or so, and will be releasing them at some new markets I have planned this year.  Hard to believe how fast the time is going, it’s almost been a year since my last one and having baby Blake is keeping my life full!

Carrot softie sline up

I have also had these on the go for a while too…

Just a bit of fun for some little ones, Luna also loves them and has snuggle tested them out of course.

the girls and the strawberries

I started these at about the same time our strawberry plants started to produce a few strawberries of their own, first a couple of smallish strawberries and then I just had to go bigger!  I put a bell in a couple of them for fun, come and see them at the next Crafternoon Tea or Kraftbomb.

Fake foodz

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

So I’ve just been making some fun fake foodz for Luna and well, me too.  The next step after the cupcake pincushions I suppose…  These are ideal for vegans, diabetics, and coeliacs!

These will perfect for my old play tea set – when I find it!

I have made small circular vanilla and berry iced biscuits and slightly stuffed choc and mint slice buscuits.  The cupcake is a mini version of my pincushions and is decorated with some pretty beads.

I just finished making this Miss Carrot top softy for Luna…  bit of fun really, but I’m getting a bit obsessed with making more fake food.
